While it's generally a good idea to be skeptical about bills passed with overwhelming support, and Gov. Paterson has often to his credit broken with his liberal legislative past in vetoing such measures, and it is reasonable to be skeptical about the state building more bureaucratic empires and imposing more burdens on business, nevertheless ... it's hard to see any good reason to oppose this smart growth measure (A8011) which seeks to channel government spending in a more constructive direction.
