We and a lot of other people took in the Friday night performance of Irving Berlin's "Annie Get Your Gun" at Albany's Washington Park Playhouse in the beautiful open air. Among them were Congressman Paul Tonko and League of Women Voters Legislative Director Barbara Bartoletti, who were earnestly conversing during intermission. The show continues just tonight (Saturday) and Sunday, so I should have seen it and gotten this plug in before now. It's a good time and a good deal, free for most people in the ampitheater, with some $12 and $10 seats at the front. Steve Barnes at the TU liked it, too. The only down sides were some yakking in the audience, and my wife arguing me out of a $10 show T-shirt investment for our daughter, who sung and acted her way through high school and now occasionally carries a gun in the Army.
I remember seeing the "Annie Get Your Gun" movie as a child. LOVED the song, "Anything you can do, I can do better ... I can do anything better than you."
