No sign yet of the Senate ethics bill which Sen. Eric Schneiderman said last Tuesday was going to be unveiled within a couple of days. It hasn't been introduced yet, according to Schneiderman's office, which also said they'd have someone call me about it. The Legislature is coming back into session today, but ethics does not seem high on the agenda despite the ongoing Joe Bruno trial. Reminds me of the similarly elusive Scarlet Pimpernel, which inspires this adaptation of Baroness Orczy's verse:
We seek it here, we seek it there,
We look for ethics everywhere.
Is it in conference, primed for a kill?
That demned elusive ethics bill.
