How bipartisan is the Republican-controlled Senate these days? It passed a resolution sponsored by a Democratic senator celebrating the birthday of Malcolm X, and confirmed another Democratic appointee of the Democratic governor, Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala as commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles. Both votes were unanimous, and Sen. Tom Libous, the deputy majority leader who represents Broome County, said on the floor to Fiala: "In fact, I got along better with you than I did with the Republican county executive."
Sad how low the Senate's reputation when they are praised for acting like adults, as though it's some sort of unusual achievement.
