I noticed governor-elect Andrew Cuomo endorsed the federal tax deal adding up to a trillion dollars to the national deficit while keeping tax rates down for every last billionaire. He's also for letting New York's top income tax rate sunset at the end of next year, supports a raise for state judges and hasn't ruled out one for politicians. This sounds less like fiscal conservatism and more like the policy attributed to Queen Marie Antoinette.
The long overdue pay raises for judges is nothing compared to the double dipping that many legislators and other public sector workers are taking is costing the state.
