Vice President Joe Biden, from the faux-working man wing of the Democratic Party, is attending a fund-raiser for NY-23 congressional candidate Bill Owens, who was Republican Sen. Ron Stafford's law partner, at the Syracuse office of Bond, Schoeneck and King, a notorious union-busting law firm. I had some unpleasant encounters with a couple of the firm's lawyers back in the 1980s, when I was chairman of The Newspaper Guild unit at the Glens Falls Post-Star, and they gave off more than a whiff of sulphur.

I caught more than a whiff of the sulphur back when I was playing Norma Rae with the clerical-union-busting Professional Staff Congress, the faculty union at CUNY. Good Democrats / Liberals / even Socialists, all.
Yesterday, here in West Virginia, prominent Union Busters threw the people a Labor Day party.
On a mountaintop removal reclamation site.
And told the people that environmentalists are depriving them of jobs. Whereas the fact is that the coal industry and the timber industry in this state import illegal Mexican labor.
