I checked in with the Legislative Ethics Commission today, and was told the legislators' financial disclosure statements are still not ready for redacted public viewing.
You gotta wonder what would happen if all the information about legislators' private incomes and clients did become publicly available. Would it have the kind of impact in this state that the parliamentary expenses scandal is having in Britain? No wonder the pols have stonewalled and maneuvered so long and so successfully to block meaningful disclosure. (Oh, and as a commenter noted on a previous post, there's a Senate public hearing on ethics reform tomorrow, starting at 11:30 in Room 124 of the Capitol.)
